10/05/24 Panthers insider says David Tepper OK'd the Bryce Young benching, and why that's OK. The Carolina Panthers have thus far made the sharpest move at quarterback by any NFL team this season. Following their second-straight humiliating loss to begin the season, the Panthers made a bold change by benching number one overall draft pick Bryce Young and starting long-time veteran Andy Dalton. At the time ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the decision to sit Young was a combined effort between head coach Dave Canales, general manager Dan Morgan and EVP Brandt Tilis.

10/05/24 Raiders' Jakorian Bennett gets national attention for outstanding start to season. The Las Vegas Raiders' secondary is off to a decent start to the 2024 season. Outside of an abysmal Week 3 performance against the Carolina Panthers, the unit had held its own and put together a fantastic showing in the team's Week 4 victory versus the Cleveland Browns, surrendering just 176 passing yards and picking off Deshaun Watson in the second half. Second-year cornerback Jakorian Bennett's elevation to being one of the better young corners in the AFC has been a primary reason for Las Vegas' competent play in the secondary. The 24-year-old isn't widely known around the league but garnered some recognition from Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox, who called Bennett the Raiders' hidden gem.

10/04/24 ESPN FPI predictor gives Panthers a shockingly low chance to beat Bears in Week 5. Entering the 2024 season, the Carolina Panthers were expected to be the laughingstock of the league and two games in, it felt like that was going to come to fruition. After making a quarterback change, the Panthers have flipped the vibe in the locker room and amongst the fanbase as they believe they can actually compete for the division all of a sudden. The Panthers had a convincing win over the Las Vegas Raiders and put up a valiant effort in the 34-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals last week. For this week's game against the Chicago Bears, the Panthers have a 36.6% chance to win according to the ESPN FPI (Football Power Index) matchup predictor.

10/02/24 Panthers sign hometown player whose father died in Mooresville home explosion. The Carolina Panthers have signed a hometown player and former first-round pick to their practice squad. On Tuesday, the team said it signed cornerback Caleb Farley after a tryout earlier in the day. The 25-year-old's career has been riddled by injury since being drafted by the Titans in the first round of the 2021 draft, hampering his ability to make an on-field impact in Tennessee. Since the start of the 2021 season, Farley has played in just 12 NFL games.

10/01/24 Jayden Daniels has changed the comical Commanders into a serious franchise.

Washington’s first-round pick is having one of the best rookie quarterback seasons ever. And there are plenty of signs his success will continue

There are times in life when the second shall be first.

In the 2023 draft, the Carolina Panthers made a major trade with the Chicago Bears to jump up and take Alabama quarterback Bryce Young with the No 1 overall pick. The Houston Texans were second, and they took Ohio State’s CJ Stroud.

Daniels’ EPA per dropback (a reliable indicator of per-play efficiency) of 0.32 is the highest for any rookie quarterback in Weeks 1-4 since at least 2000, and Daniels leads the NFL in passing EPA overall at +50.7. That’s some distance ahead of Josh Allen, who is second at +36.7.

Daniels’ completion rate of 82.1% is the highest for any quarterback over a four-game stretch at any point in a career (minimum 100 pass attempts) since at least 1950.

The Commanders have had 23 scoring drives this season, and Daniels has just 19 incompletions. The 1973 Los Angeles Rams are the only other team in NFL history to have more scoring drives than incompletions in the first four games of a season.

The 2024 Commanders have the second-highest EPA per drive through the first four games of a season in NFL history. The 2007 New England Patriots, widely regarded as the best offensive team ever, are the only team with a higher overall efficiency.

9/30/24 NFL Power Rankings Week 5: Raiders back from the brink after win vs. Browns. After what was a brutal week following their loss to the Carolina Panthers, the Las Vegas Raiders bounced back in a big way to defeat the Cleveland Browns in Week 4, 20-16. Making the win more impressive was the fact that Las Vegas had to overcome a 10-point deficit early on, which showed that, despite all the negativity surrounding the "business decisions" and whatnot, this team still has some fight in it. The Raiders were on the brink of being at the very bottom of the NFL Power Rankings of experts last week, but the victory over the Browns will not only prevent that this week, it has the Raiders moving up.

9/28/24 NFL analyst identifies team that makes most sense for Panthers, Bryce Young as trade partner. Ever since the Carolina Panthers benched quarterback Bryce Young, a ton of reports regarding potential trades and trade partners have surfaced, even as Carolina's front office has claimed the team has no interest in trading him. At least four teams have reached out inquring about Young - and they were all reportedly told that it's not happening. The team that's been most-connected with Carolina about a potential Bryce Young deal is the Miami Dophins, who ESPN picked as the strongest-possible suitor out of four potential candidates from around the league.

9/27/24 Panthers could be without both starting guards on Sunday against the winless Bengals. The Carolina Panthers could be without both of their high-priced free agent guard acquisitions on Sunday when they host the winless Cincinnati Bengals. Panthers coach Dave Canales said Damien Lewis (elbow) has been ruled out and Robert Hunt is questionable after tweaking his hip in practice on Friday. Hunt did not finish practice. The Panthers invested more than $150 million on Hunt and Lewis this past offseason and both had been playing well.
