9/29/24 Philadelphia Phillies Star Pulls Off Incredible Feat Not Seen In Almost 20 Years. The Philadelphia Phillies have remained mostly healthy in a season that has been marred by injuries to most of the other teams in baseball. With their biggest stars only missing a few weeks here and there, it has gone a long way to helping them reach the postseason for the third consecutive season. The biggest picture of health for the Phillies this year has been right fielder Nick Castellanos. With his first-inning plate appearance against the Washington Nationals on Sunday, Castellanos has officially played in all 162 games of the 2024 campaign, a feat that has not been done by the Phillies since Jimmy Rollins in 2007.

9/27/24 Nick Castellanos is the Phillies' October X-Factor. The Phillies have locked up a first-round bye and will start their run for the World Series trophy on Saturday, October 5th at Citizens Bank Park. This is the best Phillies team of the last three years, and it's not really close. Everything is there for the Phillies. The test, which they've failed the last two years, is consistent hitting throughout the entire playoffs.

9/23/24 Philadelphia Phillies Slugger Must Be More Consistent This Postseason. The Philadelphia Phillies have already punched their ticket to the postseason, which means some players can begin to put their focus on preparing for the pressure that is about be put on them. Brian Murphy of MLB.com recently put together a list of stars that need to put together a better postseason than they did last year. Phillies slugger Nick Castellanos made the list, thanks to his wildly inconsistent presence in October. The pressure of batting in the postseason is relatively new to him, despite being a 12-year veteran.

9/14/24 Potential Philadelphia Phillies Target Not Expected to Become Free Agent. Throughout the season, the main weakness on this Philadelphia Phillies roster that many people pointed to was their outfield. With Nick Castellanos getting off to a slow start and Johan Rojas still struggling at the plate, that unit became a talking point despite the team putting up the best record in baseball through the first half of the year. Dave Dombrowski acknowledged they were looking for some potential upgrades at the trade deadline, especially after their decision to demote Rojas to the minors in hopes he would find some more consistency with the bat in his hand. Revealed as a longtime target of the Phillies, it hasn't been the start to his Philadelphia tenure that anyone had envisioned with two stints on the injured list that has prevented him from getting into a groove.

9/06/24 Nick Castellanos' chase for 162 games goes beyond endurance. It's a testament to the Phillies' faith in him.. Nick Castellanos stood in right field during batting practice on March 29 when Rob Thomson wandered over, part of his daily pregame rounds to check in with each player. “Happy opening day,” the Phillies manager said. As Castellanos recalls, he returned the pleasantry, drifted a few paces to shag a fly ball, and decided to head inside when Thomson left him with what he interpreted as a message. “He just said something like, 'Hey, 162,'” Castellanos said the other day before a game against the Marlins.

9/03/24 Castellanos' consistency paying dividends for Phillies. There have been many moments in Nick Castellanos' major league career that indicated not only a sense of the dramatic at the plate, but a tendency to roll with the waves. Through it all, Castellanos at least maintains an outward sense of calm, and an apparent belief in the old adage of whatever comes around will eventually go around. Anyone keeping a close eye on him during his three Phillies seasons have had many moments of wondering what the five-year, $100 million free agency contract given him in 2022 was all about.
