7/06/24 Dodgers News: Teoscar Hernández Wants To Participate In 2024 Home Run Derby. Teoscar Hernández has been an important piece of the Los Angeles Dodgers' lineup in 2024 due to his presence as a power threat and his ability to be in the lineup every single day. Not to mention the lack of overall depth in the lineup even before Mookie Betts and Max Muncy went on the injured list. If not for a family emergency that caused him to miss two games during the series against the White Sox, he would join Freddie Freeman as the only other person on the Dodgers to play in every single game this season.

7/05/24 Mookie Betts possibly changing from Dodgers leadoff hitter. Mookie Betts has been out with a fractured left hand since the middle of June, and the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup has been a mixed bag over that stretch. Going 9-6 since Betts went down, they've also shown some big time improvements aside from just the record. Shohei Ohtani sliding into the leadoff spot has opened up the offense in some areas, mainly instant offense with his combination of pure power and speed. “Shohei belongs wherever the hell he wants to go,” Betts said.

7/03/24 2 Dodgers stars snubbed from starting All-Star game. MLB announced the 2024 All-Star starters and there were two glaring omissions from the Dodgers. Neither Mookie Betts nor Teoscar Hernandez were included in the starting lineup for the NL in this year's All-Star game. Betts was beat out by Phillies shortstop Trea Turner, while Hernandez was passed over for Padres Jurickson Profar and Fernando Tatis Jr., as well as Christian Yelich of the Milwaukee Braves.

7/02/24 Dodgers News: Alan Trejo Signed After Electing Free Agency. A wide range of Los Angeles Dodgers injuries this season have been compounded by inconsistent production from the depth of their lineup and bench. Mookie Betts' fractured left hand has also thrust Miguel Rojas into an everyday role at shortstop, which the veteran has embraced and flourished in. In addition to that factor, some concerns over the physical demands of playing shortstop and Betts' throwing struggles have created an anticipation of the Dodgers looking to address the position prior to the MLB trade deadline on July 30.

7/01/24 Dodgers News: Miguel Rojas Prepared To Start At Shortstop Every Day. The Los Angeles Dodgers are without Mookie Betts for the foreseeable future after he suffered a fractured left hand, but the Dodgers have thus far been able to manage without him. L.A. did not make any major changes after his injury, choosing Shohei Ohtani to bat leadoff in his place and going with Miguel Rojas as the every day starting shortstop in the meantime. This type of situation is exactly why the Dodgers acquired Rojas prior to the 2023 season. Of course, this could mean an adjustment period for Rojas, who went from a bench role player to an every day starter very quickly.
