The fifth starter spot in the Cardinals rotation has remained a question mark ever since Steven Matz went on the injured list at the beginning of May. For at least one day, Andre Pallante provided an answer. Pallante, who made 108 of his 118 previous appearances in the majors out of the bullpen, tossed six scoreless innings and earned his first win as a starter in the big leagues since 2022.
