7/03/24 San Francisco Giants Reinstate Veteran Outfielder. The San Francisco Giants announced on Tuesday that they will be reinstating outfielder Mike Yastrzemski from the 10-day IL, and in a corresponding move are optioning Landen Roupp to Triple-A. The 33-year-old hit the injured list on June 22 with a left oblique injury. The return of Yastrzemski is significant for San Francisco because it marks the return of an everyday starter. Yastrzemski had been the everyday right fielder for the team and while he is not elite defender, he knows the ballpark well and how to play the funky balls off the brick wall.

7/02/24 SF Giants welcome back outfielder to start trip in Atlanta. Outfielder Mike Yastrzemski is back in the resurgent Giants' lineup today, after missing the past nine games with an oblique strain. Yastrzemski will bat eighth in the 4:20 p.m. (PT) series opener at Atlanta, where the Giants will play three games before heading to Cleveland for a three-game set. The Giants went 5-4 in Yastrzemski's absence, including wins in their first 3-of-4 games against the Chicago Cubs before taking 2-of-3 from the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers to cap a homestand.

6/30/24 Could San Francisco Giants Target Red Hot Utility Man?. The San Francisco Giants are staying afloat in the race for a Wild Card spot, but still need some help on offense to close the gap. As MLB.com's Mark Feinsand surveyed exactly what teams need ahead of the MLB trade deadline, San Francisco's holes couldn't be addressed by just one player. "The Giants could use some middle-infield help, and although Mike Yastrzemski doesn't believe his oblique strain will keep him out very long, adding an outfield bat would help the lineup, too," said Feinsand. "San Francisco's sub-.500 record and negative run differential would indicate that the Giants need to improve in a few areas to boost their postseason odds."

6/23/24 Giants put OF Yastrzemski (oblique) on 10-day IL. The San Francisco Giants have placed outfielder Mike Yastrzemski on the 10-day injured list with an oblique strain and recalled Luis Matos from Triple-A Sacramento.

6/22/24 Giants place outfielder on IL before Cardinals clash. Last season, the San Francisco Giants seemed to lack talent. Injuries continue to ravage the slumping Giants (36-40), as two more players head to the injured list ahead of Saturday's road game against the St. Louis Cardinals (37-37). Outfielder Mike Yastrzemski (oblique strain) and right-handed starting pitcher Keaton Winn (elbow inflammation) are being placed on the IL and Luis Matos and David Villar are being recalled to the big leagues, per Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area.
