7/03/24 San Francisco Giants Urged to Trade Top Hitter in Lineup. The San Francisco Giants have been playing much better baseball over the past week, giving them hope as they head into the second half of the season. The Giants will need at least a month or two of above-average play before there can be serious talk about them being the team they were expected to be. The trade deadline poses some questions for the front office, especially if they continue to sit in the middle of the pack. David Schoenfield of ESPN listed what every team should do at the trade deadline, writing that San Francisco should trade Lamonte Wade Jr. to the Seattle Mariners.

6/23/24 Gray flirts with perfect game as SF Giants finish tough road trip with a dud. With their fifth straight loss, the Giants have plummeted to that point now, and are showing real signs of cracking. San Francisco is missing LaMonte Wade Jr. and Jung Hoo Lee and has gotten practically nothing from Blake Snell, Keaton Winn, Tristan Beck, Robbie Ray and Alex Cobb due to injuries or underperformance.

6/20/24 LaMonte Wade Jr. addresses special relationship with Willie Mays, absence from SF Giants' Rickwood Field game. When Willie Mays died earlier this week, many Giants players and coaches only learned of the news when it was announced in the middle of their game at Wrigley Field. Not LaMonte Wade Jr. He and manager Bob Melvin were among those to be informed before first pitch. “It was definitely sad news to hear, especially after these last two years getting to know Willie a little bit,” Wade said Thursday on the very site where Mays got his start. Decades after Mays made his professional debut for the Birmingham Black Barons right here at Rickwood Field, where the Giants faced the Cardinals in a one-off game honoring the Negro Leagues, he took a special interest in another Black player trying to establish himself in the major leagues.

6/12/24 Giants get encouraging LaMonte Wade Jr. injury update. While the San Francisco Giants are facing fierce competition in the NL West, the team is still battling to remain involved in the playoff conversation. When LaMonte Wade Jr. returns from injury, the Giants will like their chances much more. Wade was able to take grounders and began some light running on Tuesday, via Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic. While it's not set in stone that Wade will be playing in that game, he has been making steady progress towards a return.
