5/14/24 Ruiz and Lipscomb help the Nationals beat the White Sox 6-3 in doubleheader opener. Keibert Ruiz and Trey Lipscomb each hit an RBI single during Washington’s three-run eighth inning, and the Nationals beat the Chicago White Sox 6-3 in the opener of straight doubleheader. Joey Meneses went 4 for 4 and drove in two runs for Washington, which had lost three of four. Lipscomb had three hits and swiped three bases. Derek Law got three outs for the win, and Kyle Finnegan handled the ninth for his 13th save in 14 opportunities. Eloy Jiménez hit a solo homer for Chicago, which has dropped two in a row since a four-game win streak. The doubleheader was scheduled after Monday’s series opener was postponed by rain.

5/10/24 Lack of clutch hits and closing out innings dooms Red Sox in loss to Nationals. Houck looked set to sail at the outset. Keibert Ruiz initiated the second-inning rally off the Sox righthander by lining a full-count slider to right on the eighth pitch of his at-bat. An Eddie Rosario liner down the right-field line put runners on second and third. With Sox second baseman Vaughn Grissom stationed up the middle, both runners scored when Trey Lipscomb bounced a single through the wide-open right side of the infield, with Rosario narrowly beating a blistering throw to the plate from right fielder Tyler O'Neill.
