6/30/24 Sick and tired: Cincinnati Reds shut out again by Cardinals, split series in St. Louis. The best thing the Cincinnati Reds could say for how their day went Sunday in St. Louis was that Hunter Greene didn't vomit on the mound for the first time in three starts. For now, four days riding an offensive roller-coaster at Busch Stadium left the Reds lineup tasting its lunch for the second time as they headed to New York for an off day Monday ahead of three games at Yankee Stadium. The Reds outscored the Cardinals 20-11 the past four games but came away with a dispiriting split thanks to 1-0 and 2-0 losses Friday and Sunday during a series Reds players acknowledged was a big one. Instead of what might have been one of the bigger series wins of their season, the Reds trudged out of town with their 10 loss in 15 games, still six games under .500 and a half-game out of last place as they flip the calendar to July.

6/30/24 Deadspin | Reds' Hunter Greene looks to rebound vs. Cardinals. Right-hander Hunter Greene's most recent start for the Cincinnati Reds was his most difficult of the season for a couple of reasons. Greene (5-3, 3.79 ERA) will try to rebound in the finale of a four-game series Sunday at Busch Stadium. The Reds won 11-4 Thursday and 9-4 on Saturday while the Cardinals won 1-0 Friday. Becoming ill two batters into that start presented a unique challenge for Greene.

6/26/24 Hunter Greene has an unfortunate first inning against Pirates, throws up on the mound. On Tuesday at Great American Ball Park, it was obvious early on that Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Hunter Greene was having an off night, according to our media partners at The Cincinnati Enquirer. While Greene faced the second batter of the game, he threw up. A few pitches later, he allowed a two-run homer to Pirates left fielder Bryan Reynolds. Last week, when Greene faced the Pirates on an incredibly hot day, Greene said that he threw up due to drinking too much water.

6/25/24 Reds pitcher vomits on mound right after delivering 95 mph fastball. The temperature at Great American Ball Park at first pitch on Tuesday was nearly 90 degrees as heat waves have scattered throughout the country. Hunter Greene was on the bump for the Cincinnati Reds, and he apparently got the ill-affects of the sun. In the top of the first inning, the right-hander was pitching against the Pittsburgh Pirates with Bryan Reynolds at the dish. Greene fired a 95 mph fastball on the inside corner that was fouled off, and almost immediately upon Reynolds making contact, Greene turned around and threw up.
