Chances are outfielder Dairon Blanco will not be in the starting lineup for the Kansas City Royals as they close a four-game series on Sunday afternoon against the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim, Calif. But that doesn't mean Blanco won't have an impact on the game. Blanco has started just eight of the Royals' 41 games this season, but he has played in 26 games, providing a late-inning luxury for manager Matt Quatraro. Dairon Blanco had three hits, including a two-run homer in the third inning, Michael Wacha picked up his first win in over a month and the Kansas City Royals rolled to a 10-4 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday night. “He comes ready to play whenever he's in the lineup, whether that's starting or just coming off the bench,” Royals manager Matt Quatraro said of Blanco, who is mostly used as a pinch runner, but has hit safely in five of his seven starts this season.
