Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Joey Ortiz, after playing in only two of six possible games from June 26 to Tuesday, was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday because of neck inflammation. | 6/16/24 | Milwaukee Brewers power their way past CIncinnati. (WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cincinnati Reds 3-1 Saturday at American Family Field in Milwaukee with 1 swing of the bat. Joey Ortiz belted his home run in the fifth inning with Bryce Turang and Jackson Chourio on base to put the Brewers up 3-0. Cincinnati scored a run in the ninth off of reliever Trevor McGill but that's as much offense as they could generate. Jared Koenig was the designated starter for the Brewers, pitching 2/3 of an inning before turning things over to Bryse Wilson who went 5 1/3 innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 6.
